You're Invited, Too! More Found Invitations
While trolling thrift stores around the country for found videos, I find a lot of children's birthday party invitations and I'm always struck by the same questions: How did they end up here? Did the kid's party get cancelled? Did they not have enough friends? And what poor sap's mother thought her son would want Police Academy The Animated Series invitations? Enjoy the latest installment of "You're Invited" and don't forget to RSVP.
(l) G.I. Joes were pretty cool action figures. The cartoon was pretty forgettable, except for the moralizing "Knowing Is Half the Battle" segments where the Joes entered the real world to teach skateboarding kids not to vandalize.
(r) Another stellar pack of invites from the good folks at Unique. A lot of my friends preferred "MASK" to "G.I. Joe," but I always remember thinking that the MASK action figures were too tiny.
(l) Remember how there were two Ghostbusters cartoons: The "Real Ghostbusters" and then that other one with the big gorilla? I've never found any invitations for the latter.
(r) These have to be pretty rare: "Police Academy: The Animated Series" invitations. Looks like Mahoney has stopped traffic to make a list of party guests. I hope Tackleberry's coming.
I suppose these Smurfette invitations were intended for girls, but she couldn't look more coquettish here.
(l) Definitely in my top five invitations I've ever found, these cards feature Hulk Hogan, the Iron Sheik, and a particularly bad drawing of Superfly Snuka.
(r) WCW invitations: like WWF invitations, but not as good.
Wonder Woman wants me? I wish.
(l) This couple looks surprisingly underage to be baking cookies and swilling martinis. Disturbing.
(r) A party with Coke and records seems like something that the dad from Footloose would try to outlaw.
