The True Story Behind "Heavy Metal Picnic"

Our friend Jeff Krulik, the co-director of the legendary documentary, "Heavy Metal Parking Lot," has just finished as close to a sequel as you're ever likely to get--"Heavy Metal Picnic." We showed some highlights from this 1985 found home movie in our last touring show and it turned out to be an unbelievable document of one unforgettable weekend at a heavy metal festival in Maryland. Now Jeff has tracked down most of the people in the tape, including the guy who shot it, and created an incredible documentary about this sort of heavy metal Woodstock.

Jeff and the movie were the subjects of a huge cover story in Washington City Paper last week (bonus: we're quoted in it!).
